And thus my girl moved on

Alice Strange a.k.a Little Kitty a.k.a. Goblin a.k.a Eyeballs being super cute. A black cat on her back showing off her toe beans. Literally looks like something out of Ghibli.

Our story began in 2011…

Alice Strange (a.k.a. Little Kitty a.k.a. Goblin a.k.a. Eyeballs) was found, starving on my aunt’s newly purchased land outside of Topeka. She was starving, frightened, and caught in a raccoon trap. As we left the housewarming, my father grabbed the cage and threw it on me in the back seat. She stood on my lap the whole way home, staring at me.

She spent two weeks hiding in the garage. I spent hours out there every day, singing to her, talking to her, gaining her trust. We became inseparable. I was her human.

Last year, 4 days after my 40th birthday I lost my boyo Greyson. Within the next 4 months, we first lost Orange Kitty and then Alice got a rather disheartening diagnosis.

I truly believe that she stayed because I needed her to stay. I couldn’t stand to lose another cat.

Today, I let her go.

I’ll always have a song for you, my girl, and you’ll always have a home with me.
